Tuna Chow Mein Casserole

A tuna casserole recipe with canned tuna and chow mein noodles prepared on the microwave.

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1 (7 ounces) can tuna
10 1/2 ounces cream of mushroom soup, condensed
1 cup chow mein noodles
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/3 cup chow mein noodles


Directions:

  1. In a deep, 1 1/2-quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic casserole, melt 2 tablespoons butter or margarine in microwave 30 seconds.

  2. Add celery, onion and green pepper to melted butter. Heat, uncovered, in microwave for 3 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

  3. Combine remaining ingredients except 1/3 cup chow mein noodles with vegetables. Blend well. Top with 1/3 cup of chow mein noodles. Heat in microwave, uncovered, 10 minutes or until sauce bubbles.
