Shrimp Tempura
The tempura batter may be used for other recipes. Try it with vegetables such as
broccoli, pea pods, cauliflower.
Ingredients:
1 cup sifted flour
1 cup ice cold water
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
Vegetable oil for frying
Directions:
- Prepare the batter by mixing together the flour, water, egg yolk and soy sauce.
- Heat oil in a wok or deep fryer.
- Dip the shrimps into the batter one by one and fry in the hot oil till lightly browned. Drain shrimps on paper towels. Serve.
