New England Clam Chowder II

A variation of New England clam chowder recipe

Ingredients:
2 cans clams (with liquid)
1/4 pound bacon, diced
1 large onion, sliced
2 large potatoes, diced
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 tablespoon dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
Parsley


Directions:

  1. Fry bacon until crisp. Add onion and saute until tender.

  2. Add potatoes and some water. Cook until potatoes are tender.

  3. Add clams and liquid, butter, milk and thyme to potato mixture. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Heat to serve temperature, but do not boil. Garnish with parsley and serve.
