Great Clam Chowder

A variation of clam chowder recipe

Ingredients:
2 small cans minced clams
1 cup onions, chopped
1 cup celery, finely diced
1 carrot, diced
3 cups potatoes, diced
3/4 cup margarine, melted
3/4 cup flour
1 qt. half and half
1 1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 tablespoon sugar
Dash of pepper


Directions:

  1. Drain juice from clams and pour liquid into pan with vegetables. Add enough water to just cover vegetables. Cook until tender.

  2. Meanwhile, in a blender blend flour, half and half, salt, sugar and pepper. Add melted margarine.

  3. Pour into vegetable mixture. Add clams, stir and heat. Taste with salt.

  4. Serve with French bread or crackers.
