Crab Gumbo Recipe
Gumbo is a unique stew that originated in Louisiana. It is usually served with rice. A delicious dish to be eaten year-round.
Ingredients:
1 pound lump crabmeat
2 onions, chopped
4 tomatoes, chopped
7 cups water
10 okra
2 bay leaves
3 sprigs parsley
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon chili peppers
4 tablespoons butter
Directions:
- Add to a large saucepan all ingredients together except crabmeat and butter. Cook for 30 minutes.
- In another saucepan, cook crabmeat and butter together for 20 minutes.
- Add together and cook over low heat for 30 minutes.
- Discard bay leaves and serve.
