Crab Gumbo Recipe

Gumbo is a unique stew that originated in Louisiana. It is usually served with rice. A delicious dish to be eaten year-round.

Crab Gumbo Recipe

Ingredients:
1 pound lump crabmeat
2 onions, chopped
4 tomatoes, chopped
7 cups water
10 okra
2 bay leaves
3 sprigs parsley
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon chili peppers
4 tablespoons butter


Directions:

  1. Add to a large saucepan all ingredients together except crabmeat and butter. Cook for 30 minutes.

  2. In another saucepan, cook crabmeat and butter together for 20 minutes.

  3. Add together and cook over low heat for 30 minutes.

  4. Discard bay leaves and serve.
